Meet Hannfried

Hannfried von Hindenburg,

Principal & Founder

Hannfried is an infrastructure crisis and brand communications specialist who works with senior executives at international midsize infrastructure firms & investors who are tired of constant public attacks on their sustainability record.

He has seen time and again how reputational challenges suck valuable time and energy from management and staff and damage long-term relationships with key stakeholders, such as investors, local communities, political leaders and even their own staff.

Hannfried’s expertise helps to address immediate crises and position brands for growth through strategic brand building. He has more than two decades of experience working with CEOs on ESG reputation and brand management at premier institutions across three continents.

Hannfried’s multicultural & multi-organizational background includes extensive work in international, culturally-appropriate communications during tenures as a BBC live-on-air reporter and International Finance Corporation (IFC) infrastructure communications leader. He has achieved strategic business results via reputation management, corporate positioning, and brand marketing, employing digital and offline channels & partnerships.

As a member of the executive management team and global PR leader at Elsevier, the world’s largest academic publisher and information analytics provider, Hannfried led the firm in a new direction on public engagement, making it more open to stakeholder dialogue and giving the brand a human face amid tense commercial negotiations that spilled into the public arena in Europe and the United States. He was also responsible for the strategic public re-positioning of the brand from brick-and-mortar ‘publishing’ towards ‘information services.’
